NOTICE OF ELECTION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Montague Water Conservation District will have an election on November 4, 2025 for the purpose of electing Directors to the district. Three Directors are to be elected to full terms at said election ending on December 7, 2029 for Divisions 1, 2 and 5.
Nomination papers will be available July 14, 2025 through August 8, 2025 in the office of the Montague Water Conservation District, 120 S. 11th Street, Montague, CA 96064; phone 530-459-3371. Completed papers must be filed in the office of the Montague Water Conservation District no later than 4:00pm, on August 8, 2025. EXCEPTION: The filing period will be extended until 4:00pm on August 15, 2025, if an incumbent, eligible for reelection, fails to file a Declaration of Candidacy by 4:00pm on August 8, 2025. There is no extension of the nomination period for any office where there is no incumbent eligible to be reelected.
Appointment to each elective office will be made by the Board of Supervisors if there are no nominees or an insufficient number of nominees for the office and a petition signed by 10% of, or 50 voters, (whichever is the smaller number) has not been submitted to the Montague Water Conservation District by August 22, 2025 requesting that an election be held.
In order to qualify for the position of Director, a person shall be a landowner within the District.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that this election will be an all mail ballot.
